ARE YOU PLANNING TO SPEND YOUR VACATION IN TURKEY?

When we have “too many choices” for holiday destinations & are not able to decide one, we should then take account of our expectations out of the whole voyage. Like what we want adventure or relax, unforgettable experience or possessions, delicious cuisines or cultural diversity, friendly people or friendly with your pocket.

Such dilemmas are common when we plan for a big trip. Without a shadow of doubt I along with many others would also love to choose “Turkey” as a holiday destination for its captivating beaches, grand bazaars, cuisines, and archaeological sites gosh! The list is unending.

Turkish prefers tea over coffee, but coffee served here is generally thick & dark, served in small amounts. Alcohol “Raki” is called as the lion’s drink because to drink it you must be as strong as a lion & it should not be mixed with any other drink.

If your weakness is sweetened food- Lokum, Kayisi Tatlisi and Mozaic pasta are mind blowing desserts.

Turkish may not understand the word “Vegetarian”. If you are a pure vegetarian use word “Etsiz” to instruct for veg meals.

CLIMATE, PEOPLE & LANGUAGE

Turkey has wide range of climate depending upon its geographical regions. Very hot, sunny & warm to below zero degrees can be seen in Turkey. Spring & Autumn are the most traveled periods in this country. Turkey is a year round traveled place, considering the weather one can pick the specific location & time period to travel in Turkey.

It is said people in rural areas of Turkey are quite hospitable & would not let you go without an invitation of at least tea.

The ecstatic, spiritual & whirling dance can be seen exclusively in Turkey.

If we are at a tourist destination, it is possible to stay without speaking Turkish but at certain remote locations of Turkey one cannot communicate without a little knowledge of Turkish words & phrases which is also not difficult because learning Turkish language is not that tough.
